Sages disagree on the racial status of the so called Snow Elves. According to some they are a variety of the common Wild Elf while others maintain they truly are a unique race. Snow Elves hail from Forrstakkr, a cold and backward piece of rock north of Amia. It is unknown how and when they arrived in this unhospitable island, butit must have been long before the humans from Brogdenstein colonised the coastal areas.

The conditions on Forrstakkr turned the Snow Elves into a hard and unrefined folk. The average individual looks like a Wild Elf with light grey skin and white hair. They are heavily muscled and less agile, though, and lack the cultural finesse of their brethren. Snow Elves do not waste their time on songs or stories because one slip of concentration can mean that you don't have anything to eat or have been eaten by one of the less amusing examples of Forrstakkr's fauna.

Snow Elves live a nomadic life centered on hunting and protecting their territories. They do not have villages or stable meeting points. Most other inhabitants of Forrstakkr consider them uncivilised savages, which is quite a feat if one looks at the general cultural level on the island.

The Snow Elves speak enough Common and Elven to be understandable, and a language called "In'innatuin". The latter is near uncomprehensible to most other races, completely verbal, and not teached to anyone but Snow Elves. A few words are known (the translation in parentheses is what the Snow Elves say, but other races don't know):

Forrstakkr: Ipiutaq'atui (the Island)
Howness, Thordstein, town: Nun'vut (our land)
Human: Inuq (parasite found in Snow Bear stomachs)
Pelt, skin: Amiq'la (rubbish)
Snow: Apush
